Terms of Use

Who can use the app

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms for you. If you create an account, the details you give us must be accurate, and you are responsible for keeping access to your email or Google account secure.

What the app does

Namaz Mode calculates prayer times for your location and switches your phone to silent or vibrate during the windows you choose, then switches it back. You can also add your own quiet schedules, such as Jummah, classes or sleep.

To do this, the app needs Android permissions such as Do Not Disturb access, exact alarms, notifications and run at startup. If you turn any of these off, the app may not be able to silence or restore your phone on time.

Prayer times are calculated

Prayer times are calculated from your location using the calculation method and Asr method you choose. Different methods, locations, time zones and seasons can give different results, and your mosque may follow its own timetable or congregation times.

The app is a convenience tool, not a religious authority. Please check prayer times against a source you trust, such as your local mosque, and adjust the app's settings to match.

No guarantee your phone will be silenced, or will ring

We work hard to make silencing reliable, but it depends on things we don't control, including:

• your phone's battery saver, power management or "app sleeping" settings, which some manufacturers use to stop apps running in the background
• permissions being turned off, or changed by an Android update
• the phone being switched off, restarted, out of battery, or set to a different time or time zone
• other apps or system settings that also control sound or Do Not Disturb

Because of this, the app may sometimes fail to silence your phone, silence it at the wrong time, or not restore sound when expected. While your phone is silenced you may miss calls, messages, alarms or notifications, except for contacts you allow through Android's Do Not Disturb settings.

Don't rely on Namaz Mode in situations where missing a call or alert could cause harm, such as emergencies, medical alerts or on-call work. You are responsible for checking your phone's sound settings when it matters.

Free features and Namaz Mode Pro

The core app can be used for free. Some features are part of Namaz Mode Pro ("Pro"). [TODO: list what Pro includes.]

• Payment. Pro is sold through Google Play, and Google Play's terms and payment rules apply to your purchase. Prices are shown in the app and on Google Play before you buy and may change in the future. [TODO: state whether Pro is a one-time purchase or a subscription, and its price.]
• Free trial. We may offer a free trial of Pro. Each person can use one free trial. To prevent repeat trials, we use your account and a one-way hash of your device ID, as described in the Privacy Policy. Trying to get extra trials, for example with new accounts, is not allowed.
• Subscriptions (if Pro is a subscription). It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Canceling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. If you don't cancel before a free trial ends, you will be charged.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. If you have a problem with a purchase, email us and we'll help where we can. Nothing in these terms limits refund rights you have under the law where you live.
• Restoring Pro. If you sign in, Pro follows your account to other phones. If you don't sign in, Pro is linked to your Google Play account.

Your account

Signing in is optional. You can sign out at any time, and you can delete your account in the app (Settings › Delete account) or by following the steps at namazmode.nimbleappshq.com/delete-account/. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel that in Google Play.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example to abuse free trials or interfere with the service. If we do, we'll tell you why where we reasonably can.

Emails

If you agree to receive tips and news by email, we'll send them occasionally. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to us. We'll still send emails that are needed to run your account, such as sign-in emails.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

• copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it
• get around Pro, free-trial limits or other access controls
• interfere with or overload our services, or access them in automated ways we haven't allowed
• use the app to break any law

Ownership

The app, its design, code, name and logos belong to NimbleApps HQ. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and Google Play's terms. Your own settings and schedules remain yours.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app, add or remove features, or stop offering it. If we stop offering Pro as a subscription, we won't charge you for periods you can't use.

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change significantly affects you, we'll also tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always work, be error-free, or that prayer times or silencing will always be accurate or on time.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, NimbleApps HQ is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by your phone not being silenced or not ringing, including missed calls, messages, alarms or appointments. Our total responsibility for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Bangladesh]. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. [TODO: confirm governing law.]
